Juliette grew up in a country hotel in Bath, England and John is from Killingworth, Connecticut. We met on an Oceanic Society cruise in San Francisco Bay when Juliette was writing a Professional Singles Magazine and John was a "suit" in the Financial District! We will be celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary this April. After 35 years in the USA Juliette has now become an American citizen. John dispairs over her ever sounding American though!
This is our fourth Bed & Breakfast; the first one was in Port Townsend,Washington, the second in Petersburg, Virginia, and the third in Camden, SC. Enjoy our present location so close to downtown, yet on a quiet residential street (hear the birds!).
Come and guess which kind of homemade jam Juliette is serving for breakfast, or just come to relax in our beautiful landscaped garden in the swinging bench. Staunton is a jewel of a town which you can enjoy wandering around, nestled in the Shenandoah. We are 15 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway: truly a world away from the rush and stress of big cities!

CANCELLATION POLICY:We have a very friendly policy! If you need to cancel, please let us know by 6pm, 5 days ahead, for a full refund. If it is less time than that, we will gladly give you a refund if we rebook your room. If a refund is not possible, upon request, we will send you a gift certificate good Sunday-Thursday to use within 6 months. Because of our small size, cancellations affect us significantly but we try to be fair. Regardless of the reason, we will charge a $25 processing fee for any and all cancellations. On holiday weekends we have a 7-day cancellation notice. Special events, for which all rooms are reserved, require 14-day cancellation notice. If you want to email us to cancel please ask for a return email to be sure we received it!

ABOUT THE MANSION: Innkeepers/Owners John and Juliette Swenson come from a long history of hospitality starting in Bath, England. This is their fourth B & B. It was built at the turn of the 20th century, following the "Prairie" style with a wrap-around veranda and landscaped garden at the rear. Enjoy cable TV in your rooms or a quiet moment in the guest lounge, or upper balcony overlooking the terraced gardens.
We do allow both DOGS and CHILDREN for an extra fee.
One dog is $15 extra per night and two dogs is $20 per night. Children are $25 per night extra. BREAKFAST: Served in our dining room between 8am and 9am, or by arrangement. We serve a full hot breakfast on weekends and an extended continental during the week. It always includes freshly made fruit or nut breads, home-made bread or perhaps English scones. Juliette makes her own jams and jellies for a special homemade treat. Early-riser coffee, cocoa and tea are available too. Also, a small refrigerator and kettle are provided for guest use in the upstairs hall, along with complementary cold drinks.
